Identity-Defined Networking

An instant network overlay platform that unifies networking and security, providing an identity-first architecture based on verifiable machine identities.

Identity-Defined Overlay

The data plane that sits on top of the underlay (or the transport layer in an organization’s existing network infrastructure).

Local area micro-segmentation

Micro-segmentation that is deployed over an organization’s local area where only cloaked, authorized, authenticated and accounted machines can communicate with each other.

Micro-segmentation

The process of organizing a group of machines into segments that can’t be traversed or violated by unauthorized machines – communication between machines is always encrypted in order to improve the security and efficiency of a network.

Shared network

A public or private network that allows resources (applications, files, documents, folders, media, etc.) to be shared between users

SimpleConnect API

Tempered Networks’ restFUL API (application programming interface) that facilitates automated integration with networking tools to enable integration with workloads like self-provisioning portals, adaptive defensive networks, and data center redundancy.

Underlay network

The transport layer in an organization’s existing network infrastructure.

wide area micro-segmentation

Micro segmentation that can run across an organization’s wide-area or expanded network, allowing it to overcome barriers frequently imposed by WAN connectivity like NAT, CGNAT, private APNs, IP schema, etc.
