Internet 3.0

This paper introduces the Identity Defined Networking (IDN) framework that is driving the evolution to Internet 3.0. It includes an overview of the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) and the Host Identity Namespace (HIN). These provide the technology basis for identity defined networking and deliver benefits of simplicity, flexibility and security that are unmatched in today’s “connect everything” Internet 2.0 world. Internet 3.0 relies on device-level connectivity and identity to allow any two devices, anywhere in the world to be networked any time without boundaries or borders.
